Cleaning Tips for Kitchenware

Set up a dish rack

Many families have a habit of stacking washed bowls and dishes together in the cabinet. Newly washed bowls and dishes stacked up can easily accumulate water. In addition, the cabinet is sealed and not ventilated, making it difficult for water to evaporate, which naturally breeds bacteria.

Some people like to dry bowls with a dry cloth, but the cloth carries a lot of bacteria, and this seemingly "clean" approach backfires. In addition, when the dishes are stacked together, the dirt at the bottom of the previous dish will all stick to the next dish, which is very unsanitary.

Experts suggest setting up a dish rack next to the sink. After cleaning, simply place the dishes vertically and place the bowls upside down on the rack. This will quickly allow the dishes to dry naturally, which is both convenient and hygienic.

Chopsticks and knife holders should be breathable

Some people put their chopsticks in a cabinet or an airtight plastic chopstick holder after washing them. These methods are not advisable. Instead, choose a chopstick holder made of stainless steel wire with good breathability and nail it to the wall or place it in a ventilated area to quickly drain the water.

In addition, it is not advisable to place the kitchen knife in an unventilated drawer or knife holder, and a knife holder with good breathability should also be selected.

Hang up the kitchen utensils

Many people are accustomed to putting kitchen utensils in drawers or in pots and spoons, and covering them with lids, which is also not conducive to keeping them dry.

Vegetable cutting boards are prone to absorbing water, with scratches and fine seams on the surface, and often contain residues of fresh food. If not cleaned properly or stored properly, food residues can cause a large number of bacteria to multiply after rotting.

To solve these problems, why not make a small revolution in the kitchen: install a sturdy crossbar between the hanging cabinet and the cabinet, or in a convenient location on the wall, and attach hooks to the crossbar to hang the cleaned spatula, strainer, egg beater, vegetable basket, etc. on top, so that the water can be drained; Hang a cloth, dishwashing cloth, and hand towel at the end farther away from these utensils, and install a more sturdy hook at the other end of the crossbar to hang the cutting board as well, so as to ensure its dryness.

By using this horizontal bar hanging method, the kitchen can also be kept clean and various utensils can be easily picked up, which can be said to be a win-win situation.

It should be noted that items hung or placed outside cabinets can also be contaminated with dust while naturally drying, so they should be washed thoroughly before use.
